Most of what makes a random video chat good is not written anywhere. It is two people being decent to each other for ten minutes. These guidelines exist for the rare times that does not happen, and so that everyone knows where the line is before they tap start. If you are new, see how OmeTVGirl works first; then this page will make more sense.
Be yourself, on camera
Keep your face in the frame and your camera pointed at you. A ceiling, a black screen or a wall looks like a fake account, and people skip it. Pre-recorded videos, virtual cameras and filters that pretend to be a different person are not allowed; the whole point is meeting someone real.
Respect and consent
Insults, threats, hate speech and harassment get people removed, full stop. So does pressure: repeatedly asking someone to do something they already said no to, demanding they show more, or refusing to accept a skip. If someone is not interested, the call is over. That is the deal on both sides.
Content boundaries
Some things are never okay on OmeTVGirl, whatever the other person says:
- Nudity or sexual activity on camera.
- Violence, self-harm, weapons used to threaten, or anything illegal.
- Anyone who is not an adult, meaning the age of majority where they live. If someone looks underage, end the call and report it.
- Drugs, gambling promotions, or anything you are being paid to show.
No spam, scams or selling
Calls are for conversation. Do not share links, promote other accounts, ask people to move to another app for money, or sell anything. Asking someone for money, gift cards or crypto is an instant removal. If anyone asks you for those, report them, and see the video chat safety guide for how these scams usually work.
Other people's privacy
What happens in a call belongs to the two people in it. Do not record, screenshot or share someone else's call, and do not try to find people outside the platform from details they mention. The OmeTVGirl privacy policy covers how we handle your own data.
Why the rules are this short
Long rulebooks get skimmed. We would rather have five rules people actually remember than fifty they never read. Everything above comes back to one idea: the person on the other side of the camera is a real person having their evening, just like you. If a situation is not covered here, that idea usually answers it.
The guidelines sit alongside the OmeTVGirl terms of service, which are the formal version. Where the two overlap, they say the same thing in different words.
How these compare to the usual ome tv rules
If you have used other random video chat sites, very little here will surprise you. Most of them, ome tv style sites included, publish similar rules about nudity, minors, harassment and spam. Where OmeTVGirl tends to differ is in tone and in two practical details:
- We say plainly that skipping is fine. Nobody should feel obliged to stay in a call.
- We explain the consequences. You will know what a warning, a restriction or a removal means before it happens.
What gets you skipped, warned or banned
Enforcement depends on how serious it is:
- Warning for first-time, minor issues, like a camera that keeps showing the ceiling.
- Temporary restriction for repeated issues or several valid reports.
- Permanent removal for serious violations: sexual content, anyone underage, threats, scams, hate.
If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal by email. We go through how that works, and why bans happen on random video chat in general, in our guide to ometv bans and appeals.
Reporting
The report button is on screen for the whole call. One tap ends it and sends it for review; you do not need to explain anything to the other person. If you want to add context afterwards, write to support[at]ometvgirl.com with the time of the call, or use the OmeTVGirl support contact page.
